The headline card was the combination of two challenges we wanted to do together - Color Throwdown's combination this week and an adaptation of this pin featuring butterflies and embossing.
I decided to make the background for the embossing the melon color and used a swirly pattern that was reminiscent of the pin. I tried using a houndstooth folder to make it a bit retro to start and it was way too busy. So I scrapped that piece and stuck with swirls. Swirls work much better.
The top of the card is a border punch that my mom bought for me (with Claire's guidance) and I love it. This is its first outing. A bit of practice is needed to get it straight but I love the pattern.
The butterflies are punched from lime card stock and a grey moroccan tile paper. I creased the center to give them tha 3D effect and put silver glitter glue down the middle for that metalic effect. I added the greeting (this is Fiskars, I think...) and thought it could work for a thank you or a birthday.
Claire's take on it is beautiful with mixed size die-cut butterflies and patterned papers. Love the folder she chose as well.
A great double effort from our playdate I think.
Now I feel silly, as I didn't link up to your version :( I love the swirly embossing on your card, I think the embossing has worked out much better for you here. Loving the remote playdate action - face to face would be better..but hey remote is pretty sweet too. Hope date night was good. Cx
