Project 339: A cheery balloon boy birthday

I wanted to make a birthday card for a new colleague that was fun but sophisticated. I don't know him that well and so I needed it to be cheerful without being overly personal.

I was intrigued by the CAS-ual Friday tic-tac-toe challenge and so I went for the bottom row: Enamel dots, no patterned papers, glitter:

The background colors are blended using Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers. The balloons are punched using a Stampin' Up punch from Claire. I added some blue twine to make them have some dimension.

Then to complete the tic tac toe and make it more cheerful I added some enamel dots and lots of little gold dots using glitter glue.

All in all I was really pleased with this, I started with no plan and it all came together really quickly. Love it when that happens.

  1. Very cute!! Great job blending your background!

  2. What the hell?!! This is amazing. I love this SO much, the scattered dots and enamel dots, the blended background is perfect and the balloons work so well. Make tons of these as Male birthday cards :) Cx
